Course Overview
Delivered in partnership with Precept Management Consultancy, this course is designed to provide security personnel with a fundamental exploration of the core concepts of security. Suitable for all levels, you will leave the course with a solid foundation of understanding, ready to put into practice what you have learnt.
Guided by an experienced tutor, this course enables you to explore and understand the duty of care and responsibilities in Security Management. This includes Security Surveying, Criminological Theory, Perimeter Security as well as Crisis Response and Management.
Over the five days you will also cover a range of other topics such as Security Risk Management, Cyber and IT Security, and Introduction to Investigations. It also focuses on the core requirements to secure people and other critical assets, including risk assessments, risk matrix creation, and how to prepare a business case for security provisions to a senior management team.
This programme takes the form of lectures, workshops, discussions and exercises. Learners are placed into groups and are tasked to solve typical security problems together. You will leave the training having covered a wide range of Security Management and Security Coordination topics, providing the foundation for further future study should you wish to continue your development.

Teaching & Assessment
Learners will receive a PerpetuityARC Training Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of the five days’ training. Learners may wish to build on this knowledge further by studying further areas of security management such as Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management training or Security Coordination and Design.
This is a tutor-led, classroom course. Delegates will work in syndicates to provide feedback on a range of exercise scenarios.
