Leicestershire, UK, 23rd October 2023 – PerpetuityARC Training (part of the Linx International Group) a leading provider of security and risk management training, and the University of West London, the number one University in the UK for Student satisfaction and teaching quality*, are thrilled to announce that they have been selected as finalists in the prestigious Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2023.
They are finalists under the category of ‘Security Training Initiative of the Year’ with the MSc in International Security and Risk Management. This recognition is a testament to their commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of international security and risk management education.
The Security and Fire Excellence Awards, supported by IFSEC and FIREX, is one of the most respected events in the security and fire industry, highlighting the very best people, projects and processes that the security and fire sectors have to offer. Being named a finalist in this esteemed competition is a significant honour, highlighting the exceptional contributions made by PerpetuityARC Training and the University of West London in their collaborative efforts to drive the standards of security education.
The MSc distance learning programme is delivered in partnership with the University of West London which has recently been awarded Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023. The programme explores contemporary critical issues in security risk management and combines theoretical knowledge with professional best practice.
By combining the knowledge of experienced senior security professionals with expertise to deliver a ‘pracademic’ approach in its teaching, the programme enables students to undertake original research on a risk topic that is a challenge in the security arena, and provides them with an opportunity to add to the body of knowledge in a dynamic and developing academic field.
Angus Darroch-Warren BA (Hons) MSc PSP RISC CSyP FSyI, Director of Training for the Linx International Group and MSc Course Director, expressed his excitement about the recognition, stating: “We are delighted to be named finalists in the Security and Fire Excellence Awards alongside the University of West London.
This acknowledgement underscores our dedication to offering world-class training and education in security and risk management. We are committed to preparing professionals to meet the demands of a rapidly changing security landscape and the MSc programme offers delegates the opportunity to provide valuable contributions to this field, shaping its future.”
Professor Alison Wakefield of the University of West London and Link Tutor for the programme, shared Angus’ sentiments, saying: “At UWL we’re extremely proud of the success of our partnership with PerpetuityARC Training. We hear consistently great feedback from the students and have been extremely impressed with the quality of their work, including one learner’s excellent dissertation, which won the Security Institute’s Academic Achiever Award 2023. The course successfully blends the academic and the practical, taught by a first-rate team who are a pleasure to work with.”
The winners of the Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2023 will be announced during a prestigious ceremony on 4th December 2023 at Grosvenor Hotel, London.
