MSc Graduate Wins Prestigious Imbert Award for Second Consecutive Year

We are delighted to announce that a recent graduate from our MSc programme has been awarded one of the most prestigious accolades in the security profession.

At the annual conference and awards dinner hosted by the Association of Security Consultants (ASC), former PerpetuityARC MSc student Victoria Pond was named the winner of the Imbert Award, recognising the most outstanding Master’s-level dissertation or thesis on a security or risk-related subject in the UK.

Representing PerpetuityARC at the event was Garry Evanson, MSc Lead Tutor and Dissertation Supervisor, and Victoria, who graduated from the programme in July this year.

Victoria’s award-winning dissertation explored the topic:

“To What Extent Are Current Risk Management Strategies Effective in Informing Law Enforcement’s Decision-Making for High-Profile Events?”

The Imbert Award is presented annually to recognise excellence in postgraduate research and celebrates work that makes a significant contribution to the development of security and risk management knowledge and practice.

This achievement is made even more remarkable by the fact that it marks the second consecutive year that a PerpetuityARC graduate has received the award. In 2025, former MSc student James Mortlock was also recognised with the Imbert Award, highlighting the consistently high standard of research being produced by students on our MSc programme.

Commenting on the achievement, Garry Evanson said:

“It is fantastic to see Victoria’s hard work, dedication and academic excellence recognised by the wider security profession. Winning the Imbert Award is a significant accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of what she has achieved. To see PerpetuityARC graduates win this award for two years running is a testament to the calibre of our students and the strength of the MSc programme.”

At PerpetuityARC, we are committed to developing security and risk professionals through academic excellence, practical application, and research that addresses real-world challenges. Victoria’s success is a shining example of the impact that rigorous research can have on the security profession.

We extend our congratulations to Victoria on this outstanding achievement and look forward to seeing her continued success within the industry.
